ITINERARY

Sunday, November 30                                                                                           Merrillville, IN

This morning we board our deluxe motor coach as we begin our travels through the scenic farming area of Minnesota and Wisconsin. We will be stopping for lunch in Madison, Wisconsin. After lunch we will skirt the Chicago area as we reach our overnight stop at the Radisson Hotel in Merrillville. Here we will spend a delightful evening at a luxurious hotel decorated with tropical foliage and a cascading waterfall.

Monday, December 1                                                                                         Lexington, KY

After breakfast, we will travel to the capital city of Indianapolis, visiting the "Old Brick Yard", The Indianapolis Speedway. The tour will consist of the museum and a lap around the infamous race track. Our lunch stop will be at a MCL cafeteria. After lunch we will travel east to Cincinnati and south to Lexington, Kentucky. Tonight's stay will be at the Hampton Inn. After check in, we will board the motor coach and view a spectacular showing of the "Southern Lights" at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Tuesday, December 2                                                                                           Pigeon Forge, TN

This morning as we leave the bluegrass area of Kentucky, we will be traveling south to the Cumberland Mountains. Early this afternoon, we will be arriving in Pigeon Forge, which is located at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains for our three nights stay at the Hampton Inn. This afternoon we will enjoy the high-spirited matinee of "Country Tonight". This evening we will be entertained by the “Smith Family Christmas Show”.

Wednesday, December 3                                                                                  Pigeon Forge, TN

After breakfast we will travel by bus to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which is the most visited National Park in America hosting over 9 million visitors a year. It is part of the Appalachian Mountain Chain, the oldest mountains in America. During the afternoon we will be stopping for lunch and shopping in Gatlinburg. Late afternoon we will enjoy relaxing in our hotel or shopping at the many outlet stores. Our evening entertainment will the national recording star, Lee Greenwood.

Thursday, December 4                                                                                    Pigeon Forge, TN

This morning we will attend the Blackwood Breakfast Show”; a variety of country, comedy and gospel. This afternoon we'll take a short drive to Dollywood. Special holiday music and decorations, plus arrays of delightful crafts, make the holiday season come alive in Dollywood. We will enjoy a special performance of Dollywood's "Babes in Toyland". You will also have the opportunity to see "Christmas in the Smokies" & Dollywood's "Twas the Night" performed by the Dollywood entertainers. While we are in Pigeon Forge, we will see nearly four million Christmas lights throughout the city and in Dollywood.

Friday, December 5                                                                                       Nashville, TN

Today we will depart Pigeon Forge, and drive to the historical musical city of Nashville. After lunch at Picadilly cafeteria in Nashville, we will make a visit to the famous Country Music Hall of Fame Museum. This new building, located downtown, has four times the space than the older site. Later in the afternoon we will be arriving at the GuestHouse Inn & Suites (across from Opryland Hotel) for our two nights stay. This evening we have tickets for the Grand Ole Opry”, which is held at the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville during the months of November and December. The stars who will appear are not announced until the Thursday prior to the weekend.

Saturday, December 6                                                                                   Nashville, TN

This morning, accompanied by a step-on-guide, we will tour downtown Nashville, which is alive with country music; drive through Music Row and pass many of the famous stars' homes of Nashville. The balance of the afternoon you will have a chance to visit the famous Opryland Hotel and the new shopping mall built on the Opryland Theme Park space. This evening you have the opportunity to choose between two shows: the fabulous New York City Rockettes performing at the Grand Ole Opry Auditorium or the Louise Mandrell Dinner Show.

Sunday, December 7                                                                                   East Peoria, IL

This morning we will depart from our country memories of Nashville as we drive through Tennessee and Kentucky into Indiana. Your included lunch stop will be at the Fire Mountain Buffet in Terre Haute, Indiana. Our home for the evening will be at the Hampton Inn in East Peoria, Illinois. One of the best Christmas exhibitions in the United States awaits you this evening. We will drive through with the motor coach to experience this spectacular array of lights. The Hampton Inn is adjacent to the Par-A-Dice Riverboat Casino where you will have an opportunity for a little gaming.

Today we begin the last leg of our journey as we travel through Illinois to our drop off points in Wisconsin & Minnesota, completing our Smoky Mountain Christmas Tour with a collection of fond memories and new acquaintances.
