Our Day by Day Plans
Monday
September 1, 2008.
This
morning we leave southern
Minnesota, crossing the Mississippi River, through the state of
Wisconsin. We will have a lunch stop along the way. Late this afternoon, we will be
entering into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our evening stay will be at the Chips
Casino, Harris MI, just west of Escanaba. This evening you will have the
opportunity to enjoy the motel or explore the casino for some gaming fun.
Tuesday
September 2, 2008
The
day will start off with breakfast. Our route today will be on
Michigan
scenic Hwy #2, as we skirt the beautiful
shore
of
Lake Michigan. We will arrive at St. Ignace to board the
ferry to the
Mackinac Island
. Our home for the evening will be at the Murray
Hotel on
Mackinac Island
, located right in the middle of the shopping district. A horse drawn carriage
will be awaiting you for a two hour tour of the island.
Wednesday
September 3, 2008
Continental breakfast will be
offered at the hotel in the morning. You will have ample opportunity to take a
bike built for two around the island, go for a walk, or finish your last minute
shopping. You will be leaving the island today around noon by ferry to take you
to Michigan City. Here we will board the motor coach and cross the beautiful
Mackinac Bridge. The afternoon drive will be on route to Green Bay,
WI.
Our
home for the next two evenings will be at the Holiday Inn, along the river in
downtown Green Bay.
Thursday
September 4, 2008
After
breakfast at the Holiday Inn a guide will meet us at the hotel for our full day
tour of Door County. The tour includes the
Maritime
Museum, Door Peninsula Winery, a country walk
shopping in
Sister
Bay
and Dan Meiner's "Concert in a Schoolhouse" in
Jacksonport.
Lunch will be on your own in Founders Square. The evening will be topped off in Sisters
Bay with an included dinner at Al
Johnson's Swedish Restaurant, where the goats are grazing on top of the
restaurant while you are eating. After dinner, we will return to the Holiday Inn
for our evening stay.

September 5,
2008
Before
we leave Green Bay we will enjoy breakfast at the motel. We will then travel the country side
of Wisconsin with our lunch stop enroute reminiscing of the fun-filled week adventure with
Wendinger Travel.
