DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Thursday, October 2

Today we will be boarding our deluxe motor coach to the famous Scandinavian Celebration of the year, Høstfest. Tens of thousands of people attend this event every year and partake in the Scandinavian culture and entertainment. Over 200 internationally recognized artisans, craftsmen and chefs participate. The experience is an eclectic array of contemporary and traditional. We will enjoy lunch at the Country Buffet in the Twin Cities. The next three evenings we will be staying at the Best Western Doublewood Inn in Bismarck, North Dakota. 

 Friday, October 3

After breakfast, we will be on our way to Minot for Høstfest where you will enjoy the great Scandinavian food, the arts, crafts and music of the “land across the sea.” There will be all types of music and comedy featured. Some of the groups that will be appearing daily are The Oak Ridge Boys, Jo Ann Castle (from the Lawrence Welk Show), Williams and Ree, Bjøro Haaland (the Norwegian Cowboy)Leah Durelle, Kerry Christiansen, Sherwin Linton & the the Cotton Kings, Korsliens, Ringling 5, Kathy Bender with a tribute to Patsy Cline, Florian Chmielewski and many more.  Today we will also enjoy the fabulous Randy Travis with reserved VIP seating in the Great Hall of Vikings.

Saturday, October 4

        After breakfast we will head back to Høstfest  savoring  the fine culinary creations of Høstfest’s Scandinavian celebrity chefs preparing distinctive foods representing their countries. Also enjoy strolling musicians, entertainment in the aisles, including The Dance of the Norwegian Sweaters, and the factor that makes Hostfest memorable, the friendly people. Besides the daily entertainment, you can enjoy the wool spinning. weaving, pottery, wood carving and rosemaling which are demonstrated by talented, international-acclaimed Scandinavian, American and Canadian craftsmen. Finish the afternoon with shopping in the Viking Market, where you may purchase colorful Swedish Bastad clogs, Norwegian wool sweaters, Laila perfume and Solje jewelry, Finnish knives and glassware, Danish iron and candles, Icelandic sweaters and jackets, books and much more! We will end the evening with VIP seating at the fabulous Daniel O'Donnell Show.

Sunday, October 5

After breakfast, we will be headed home through the scenic countryside of North Dakota and Minnesota. We will be stopping along the way for our noon lunch. This will conclude our exciting four day adventure to the Norsk Høstfest.
