Peter & Paul Wendinger, sons of Herbert & Eleanora Wendinger, grew up on the family farm near
St. George, MN.  Their parents’ connection with numerous old tyme bands and their love of concertina music was instilled into the hearts of their two “boys”.

    On Polka Day, 1962, Peter & Paul’s father bought their first concertina from a Christy Hengel display.  Their first playing engagement was for the wedding reception of their neighbors, George and Marian Altmann of St. George.  For their compensation, each received a pair of black socks.  Their first actual “paid” job was on January 15, 1964 for the John Deere Day in Gibbon, Minnesota.  They received $5.00 for the event!

    Peter & Paul are recipients of the Minnesota Music Academy Award and the Minnesota Ballroom Operators 1985 Old Tyme Band of the Year Award.  In 2005 Peter & Paul were inducted into the World Concertina Congress and in June of 2006 they were inducted into the Polka Hall of Fame at Ironworld in Chisholm, MN.  The highlight of their career came about in 2007 as they  
  were inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in New Ulm, MN.

    A wide variety of musical talent compliments Peter & Paul and the Wendinger
   Band.  Their unique style with two concertinas, accompanied by brass and
   rhythm sections; complete with vocals is sure to captivate audiences of all
   ages providing you with musical entertainment at its best. 

    Present day musicians are Peter Wendinger - concertina; Paul Wendinger - concertina; Mike Simon - trumpet, trombone, vocal; Steve Moran - trumpet, trombone, keyboard, vocal; Larry Roepke - trumpet, baritone, tuba, vocal; and Jon Wendinger or Gary Gleisner - drums, vocal.

    Peter & Paul’s Sunday radio show at 12:30 PM on KNUJ (860 AM) and knuj.net; keeps them in touch with listening audiences across the United States.
