Sunny Arizona extends a warm invitation for you to explore regions and cities for an unforgettable adventure. Known for its perfect weather and stunning scenery, you will find so much more to experience, discover and share. Our home for the week will be at the Country Inn & Suites in Mesa, Arizona. Relax, meet up with friends or explore your vacation destination on your days of leisure. Visit an area casino or join your dancing partner at one of the area Polka dances. For your convenience, a Budget Rental is located in the hotel lobby.
Three exciting, fun-filled days are planned for you during the week. Day trips will include Tortilla Flats with an afternoon “Mark Twain” experience aboard the Dolly Steamboat, a replica of a sternwheeler paddleboat. One of the evenings will feature Arizona’s most popular dinner show, Arizona Opry - variety entertainment at its best! A second adventure will be a guided tour of Tucson; when a step back in time spanning over 70 years takes us for a walk down memory lane, and shows us where Hollywood legends made some of the greatest western movies of all times! An included lunch in Tucson gives us a chance to “set a spell” and enjoy the history and beauty of this friendly state. Located about ten miles south of downtown Tucson, Arizona is an historic Spanish Catholic mission known as the “place where the water appears”, as there were once natural springs in the area. A trip to the Mission San Xavier del Bac, named after its founder, will provide a unique experience as we visit the oldest Catholic Church in the United States.
Our final expedition will be a full day of sightseeing as we travel along the scenic Black Canyon Highway to Jerome, Sedona and the Ancient Cliff Swellings. Traveling through the lush Verde Valley, before reaching the spectacular Red Rock Country of Sedona, will provide many photo opportunities for your collection of memories. We will return through the Oak Creek Canyon surpassed only by the Grand Canyon for scenic beauty.
